1S 2C
we have had the problem of showing balanced hand with 3 or more trump support for a long time,
some play 1S 2NT to show balanced hand, however, 2NT takes up a lot of bidding space.
One solution is to play 2C as either real C suit, gameforcing or 3 or more spade support, game
forcing.
Subsequences:
2D: artificial relay, showing no features.
any rebids other than 2S would guarantee a real club suit.
and 3 level rebid other than 3S would show extra values. Without extra, bid 2NT.
1S 2C
2D 2S: this sequence starts the modified hinzhu raise.
2NT: balanced
3C: relay, asking for exact shape.
3D/H/S: doubleton in C/D/S, 5-3-3-2 shape, 12-14.
3N/4C/4D: 5-2-2-4 and 5-2-4-2 and 5-4-2-2, no extra,
4H/4S:5-3-2-3 and 5-2-3-3, 18-19.
3D: breaks the relay, shortness somewhere, 16-18 HCP with 4 card support.
3H: breaks the relay, cuebid in H, minimum hands.
3S: breaks the relay. balanced raise with slam interest.
3NT: 4-3-3-3, 3 spades and to play.
4C/D: cue bid, minimum hands.
3C: unbalanced, extra.
3D: relay.
3H:D suit(3S: ask for shortness),
3S: H suit,(3N: ask for shortness)
3N: 5-4-2-2 or 5-2-4-2 or 5-2-2-4(4C relay for shape)
4C:5-5 in S and D not pure(4D: relay)
4D:5-5-2-1, not pure, 4H: 5-5-1-2, not pure.
3H: shortness somewhere, 16-18.
3S: breaks the relay. balanced raise with slam interest.
3NT: 4-3-3-3, 3 spades and to play.
4C/D/H: cue bid, minimum hands.
3D: unbalanced, minimum.
3H: relay.
3H: C suit.(3S relay for shortness)
3S: D suit, (3N: for shortness)
3N: H suit,(4C for shortness).
4C/D: 5-5 in C and D.
4H: 5-5-2-1. 4S: 5-5-1-2.
3S: slam try.
3N: shortness somewhere.(4C to ask).
4C/D/H: cue, not serious
3H: 6+ spades, shortness somewhere, extra.
3S: 6+ spades, balanced, extra.
3N: 6+ spades, shortness somewhere, no extra.
4C/D/H: 6+ spades, shortness, minimum.
2H: at least 5-5 in majors, pure two suiters.
2S would be a relay, showing 3 cards or more in spades and asking
for shortness. Other rebids are natural.
2S: set up trump suit, may have more than one loser facing a void. but facing a singleton,
at most one loser.
doesn't have to be solid. 2NT would show void in spades and a big
alert. 3C: would show a void in spades and suggest C as trumps.
3D or above, cuebids.
2N: a good raise to club, at least 4 clubs and extra value.
3C: set up C as trumps, asking for singleton, step thing, three steps
should show 5-2-2-4 shape.
3S: set up S as trumps, asking for singleton, step thing.
3C: at least 5-5 in S and C, pure two suiters.
3D: relay, C is trump, asking for singleton.
3H: relay, S is trump, asking for singleton.
3D: at least 5-5 in S and D, pure two suiters.
3H: relay, D is trump, asking for singleton.
3S: relay, S is trump, asking for singleton.
3H: self splinter, solid spade suit.
3S: solid spade suit even against a void.
3N: 5-3-3-2, 18-19 HCP.
4C/D: solid spade suit, splinter.
4H: void in H.
