Ruxi's 3H is splinter, and gets doubled, Surely I am going to move on with
an extra ace for my opening bid, not mention the value of Spade Q. But at
this moment, I'd like to pass 3HX, leaving more space to maneuver.....
It turned out to be a mistake, because we terribly screwed up everything.
4H was a misclick, he said afterwards, But it gave me a impression that he
got all top cards I need, I bid 4NT for a "routine" check before rushing to
grand. But he miscount his key cards again! he said.

The other table EW stop at 4S, because both of them are too shy to mention
their clubs. We just lost a 22 imps swing. :-(

Although the disaster majorly
is due to mechanical errors, I strongly feel that when you see a seqence
like this, i.e. they bid slam without EXPLICITLY bid and raise their trump
suit, only 2 things can happen, either it's super smart auction or it's
a super stupid one, the former as rare as hairs on bald's head.

3NT is normal contract. Ruxi was offered no help from the defense, who led
a spade and held the diamond ace twice. But at the table, he should have made

it, I think. because from the manner the diamond was played, he could guess

South had the ace and therefore make a correct guess in clubs. But he laid down
the club ace and continue with club 10...
For a moment, I really feel sad. :(

The other table, H T lead covered by Q and Ace. Since declearer now can
get an extra heart trick by force, he's probably going to make it anyway.
And the defense messed up a little, giving him an easy run.

To open west hand with 1C is our style, many may not agree. I have
a problem over 2S, had I raised 3S, ruxi would have been playing 4S
for sure. He probably got 5 spades, as I already deny a spade suit.
but what bothered me much is my DA and HQ not worth their face value.
Better be conservative, my choice of 3C instead of pass is to encourage
opps to compete, and they did.
I led S2, which clearly not good, trump lead better. luckily it costed
nothing, as declearer always make 4 trumps and 3 aces.

play 3H/S in IMP game when it's likely to go down...

My 3D could be only an invitation, so 4H showed a maximum. Nevertheless,
launching RKC is still a little bit insane when facing a 12-14 1NT open.
I wouldn't have done that if we were not desperate for a big swing.
Under the pressure, Ruxi led the spade J to K at some point and claimed
13 imps for the good guys.

Our teammates made a good sacrifice here, especially when you consider
people usually restrained themselves from sacrifice in this kind of
vulnerability.

1NT open is 12-14 HCP at principle, 3NT is typical RUXI's action.
defense starts with spades, I won 2nd round in dummy and couldn't
see anything better than lead a heart, North, made the fine play
by hopping the ace and leading another spade, I repeat the heart
finesse and finally the diamond finesse, when both lost, I winded
up 3 down(the other table 3NT down 2). Ruxi surely have already
got used to this, it's a normal practice for me to make 1 or 2
tricks less than others do. :(

This is a terrible misunderstanding with no mechanic error involved.
Double was explained as minor longer + a major, or both majors.

Pass is forcing redouble, I thought by introducing clubs voluntarily
at 3 level, 3C is forcing, obviously, he didn't agree with me.

Even if he raises clubs, still not easy for us to get 6C. hard for
west to take a positive view to this hand.

Many, including me, would feel impetuous to bid 5H over 5C. But it
probably won't work well for you. Five over five, can hardly be correct,
unless you got a freaky  hand, This hand is not freaky enough...

I led Spade Ace, followed by 9, 3 and 10. I gave the matter a thought,
eventually, switched my diamond singlton, ruxi was allowed to win the
Q, but he didn't give me a ruff, because D2 was missing at the moment,
when C K drop at 2nd round, declarer made the contract.

I didn't realize I 've made the common mistake AGAIN until I browse the
record after the game! If I wanted a ruff, then why not cash the spade
King before leading a diamond?! True, the spade king may not stand, but
then our hope to beat the contract is very thin.

The other table's East made the correct defense by cashing 2 spades first
and got his diamond ruff.

The other table's 3NT was too much a overbid, Nevertheless,
this hand does illustrate some superiority of acol system, with 2 over 1
could be light if with fit in opener's suit. I have no reason to bid on
over 2H. Most of the time, the benefit of clever gadgets is just an illusion.

Even 2H is not laydown. With this distribution, I made an overtrick.

I couldn't restrain myself from bidding slam after ruxi's 4C. This is not
a bad slam, makes with either red king onside. The opening lead was spade
king, won in dummy per force.

Ruxi demonstated his excellent card-playing technique by leading a heart
to the ACE without much thought, dropping the stiff King offside and claiming
another slam swing for us. The reason of his play is: if South had the HK,
declarer got a fairly good chance to endplay him.
Well done! Many know the tricks, but only a few of them up for the moment.

1NT by ruxi was showing 2 suits of the same rank, i.e. either both majors or
both minors. Do I regret for not double? Yes or No. Yes, because we were still
short of imps and the unconvicing nature of opps' auction. No, because usually
you are on your own to double in this situation. esp. with ruxi and this
vulneribility, 2 aces are not enought, you need 3.
